The increased demand has therefore, led to the creation of many new industries. One of these industries is the Event Management sector, which has become a demanding line globally. The function of the event management industries is to organize various events and programs in various sectors and reducing the work of the organizations planning to organize such events. The study will therefore, evaluate the various standards related to event management industries so that it can be easier to analyze ones own SWOT Analysis and thereby understanding the points, which can be essential to meet the selection criteria to get employed in a reputed event management company. Entry 2 In this part of the study, a self-analysis will be done with respect to the industry standards working in an event management companies. However, it is essential to know the industry standards in event management. Event management is the implication of project management for the establishment of any events such as conferences, ceremonies, parties, conventions etc. It can act as a marketing strategy through which an organization can motivate its employees and create a close relation with the stakeholders. There exist few standards, which these event management groups and the managers need to maintain in order to achieve its organizational goals. These standards comprise of delivering the highest quality of service to its clients. The supervision of the events from time to time organized by the firm is an essential function thereby, reducing any problems in the event. The management of the cost, staff and wastage needs to be underlined so that the profits can be maintained (Allen, O'to ole Harris and McDonnell 2012). A healthy relation with the suppliers is crucial as they provide all the resources. The implementation of the improvements received from the customer feedback is essential. The most important standard includes concentrating on the needs of the customer as every customer has different needs altogether. The provision of brochures and management covers to the clients advertises their service better. The most vital standards pertaining to this industry is running its business in such a way so that the society, the environment and the economy remain in a sustainable position. If the organization functions keeping the above mentioned factors healthy, then it can gain profit. The customers are also an important factor as because of them these organizations survive. The key to become an efficient event manager is by complying with the standards of the industry and therefore, it is essential to make a SWOT Analysis of my own self so that the pros and cons can be identified. SWOT Analysis Strength: According to the given standards, it is seen that the strengths are having the ability to mix with people very easily and motivating the colleagues so as to bring in a harmonious atmosphere. The ability to mix with people helps in creating good public relations. Another strength is the urge to learn more and thus will be helpful in being updated with the changing requirements. Weakness: There exists a lot of weakness like leadership qualities and lacking the power to convince people. The other weakness includes the lack of experience about the event management system. The ability to be patient and get the work done also requires attention. Opportunity: The opportunities include the chance to undertake extra trainings about the functioning of the industry thereby gaining proficiency (Masterman 2014). Other opportunities involve the gaining from the on the job training and thereby learning a lot from it. Threat: The threat involves the high competition rate for the position of the job as there are other candidates good enough to apply for the job. The threat also includes the changing needs of the customers and so it is essential gain knowledge from time to time. Entry 4 Part 1: Career Action Plan The position, I feel that is best suited according to the qualification is the post of an event manager. The requirements of being an event manager involve the analysis of a few steps to develop a proper action plan so that a good job of an event manager is achieved. The components involving the career development include the following factors: My Profile: A proper self-development plan with proper information is helpful to the new ones to understand their capabilities. The initiation of steps to identify the interests regarding the event and their skills and values will help to improve the quality of work. My Progress: This system will be effective to develop self-development information to assess the experience and achievements during the past years so as to gain knowledge. My Goals and Plans: The development of self- assessment abilities to establish their abilities and information about career development to motivate them to investigate their learning opportunities and work options in future (Puymir et al 2016). My Review: The assessment of the work done till now is of vital importance so that transformations can be made according to the growing opportunities in the future. The career action plan will therefore include the creation of new ideas, which can develop the ideologies, which can be helpful to create an edge so that one can achieve the post within the stipulated time overcoming the other rivals. The chance of getting a job in the event Management Company may require references and therefore, the need to contact some existing employee or knowing anyone from the management is necessary to elevate the chances of getting a job in the company. Part 2 The chances of getting a job also depend upon looking at the criteria of the firms operating in the event management industry. The selection criteria of an industry are an important part of being selected. The selection criteria is a crucial part of an organization and the criteria differs from firms to firms (Singh 2016). There are primarily four criteria, which every firm tries to follow and therefore, these four criterions will be assessed to find out whether the job of an event manager is achievable. One of the most important aspects to get a job is the verbal and written communication power of an employee. Thereby, the ability to draft a proper and clear documentation is essential to communicate and create a good knowledge to the stakeholders. The ability of wring and communing orally is an efficient part and thus it can be an essential for me to get the job. The ability to initiate strategies so that points like the prioritizing the work and completing the task in the assigned deadline is necessary. This ability is present in the potential employees will be beneficial as the knowledge about the work and getting it done on time makes an employee more effective to get the job. The internal skills present in a potential employee are an important factor because the ability to communicate with the various people involved in the business like the stakeholders or the clients is an important factor. The ability to communicate and instruct their duties is very much present and therefore it acts as an USP to get the job (Patterson and Getz 2013). The ability to work as a team is there as during the college many projects and workshops were done to create a sense of unity among a team so that a work can be done better. Thus, this part is present to get the work done and thus, the chances of getting the job become higher when the communicating and the decision enrolment power exits according to the selection criteria.
